The S Limited is one of our favourite special editions, the combination of of black paintwork, with dark red interior and the gold BBS wheels creates a fantastic looking car.

The S Limited is one of the most desirable models, limited to 1000 units and was available for the Japanese market only, it was based on a high specification 1.6 Mk1, with the 120 PS engine, 5 speed gearbox, gold BBS wheels with polished lips, yellow suspension tower brace, premium sound system with headrest speakers, red leather seats, carpet and other interior trim.

This particular example is in fantastic condition, the rear sills and arches are original having had no welding repairs in the past and showing no signs of needing repairs, something that is becoming harder to find as the years have gone on, it is also nice to find an example with the original leather on the seats, again not having had any repairs in the past.

This example also has a few minor upgrades such as Ohlins adjustable shocks to replace the often criticised Bilstein items that many people find too firm for the poor quality roads here in the UK, and a full stainless steel exhaust system including Manifold, which is only slightly louder than a stock system.

The car arrived here at The MX5 Restorer in nice condition already, having covered only 14,000 miles since its’ arrival to the UK in 2007, with 1 elderly owner for that entire time that cherished and garaged it, this is what has kept it so free of rust.
