Front MX5 wings are more likely to have a rust problem than not as water is sandwiched between the panel and the sill, and mud and debris from driving frequently in the wet effectively acts as a sponge keeping the wet in the area.

If the rest of the wing is ok and you don’t want to buy a full new wing, these panels provide a cheaper solution to solving the bottom rot of the front wings. These are new units, and are designed so that the subject wing is cut at the appropriate point, and a weld is placed along the join to mate the bottom to the older wing. This will then need finishing by grinding, then having the relevant body work to create the end result of a new wing.
